Introduction To Texas
Texas is the second largest state in the United States in terms of population, area, and economy. If Texas were a country, its economy would rank as the 10th largest in the world, ahead of Canada, Spain, South Korea, Russia, Mexico, and many other developed nations, according to the Texas Comptroller's 2015 estimates. Austin was recently called the "Silicon Valley of the South", as dozens of high-tech companies have built campuses throughout the Austin area. The major cities of Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio are all booming economies and frequently ranked as some of the most desirable places to live and do business in. Despite Texas being at the forefront of development and innovation in the global economy, it still represents a market with plentiful opportunity and tremendous value waiting to be explored.
The Invest in Texas Initiative
The Invest in Texas Initiative (IITI) is a statewide non-profit industry trade association of economic development officials, attorneys, consultants, developers, business owners and other related service providers. IITI's mission is to promote the Texas investment landscape internationally. IITI also facilitates advocacy efforts on behalf of members at the state level.
